para identificar filmes, fei{\c{c}}{\~o}es, processos
oceanogr{\'a}ficos e meteorol{\'o}gicos atuantes sobre a
superf{\'{\i}}cie marinha. Imagens do sensor orbital Moderate
Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) em
condi{\c{c}}{\~a}o de sunglint na plataforma continental sudeste
brasileira foram processadas e analisadas, permitindo identificar
fei{\c{c}}{\~o}es como a borda Oeste da Corrente do Brasil,
meandramentos e v{\'o}rtices de mesoescala, ondas internas
solit{\'a}rias, rolos atmosf{\'e}ricos e filmes superficiais de
origem biog{\^e}nica e mineral. Uma corre{\c{c}}{\~a}o
atmosf{\'e}rica mais apropriada para detec{\c{c}}{\~a}o de
fei{\c{c}}{\~o}es no sunglint {\'e} aprensentada, assim como,
detalhes sobre a geometria de aquisi{\c{c}}{\~a}o. A
depend{\^e}ncia geom{\'e}trica do sunglint torna sua
ocorr{\^e}ncia mais favor{\'a}vel entre outubro e fevereiro na
regi{\~a}o de estudo quando ocorrem z{\^e}nites solares mais
prop{\'{\i}}cios. Os mecanismos e processos que permitem
identificar estas fei{\c{c}}{\~o}es no sunglint foram descritos
e ilustrados. A partir deste entendimento, as complexas
fei{\c{c}}{\~o}es identificadas podem ser interpretadas e
aplicadas na oceanografia operacional e detec{\c{c}}{\~a}o de
vazamentos de {\'o}leo na superf{\'{\i}}cie do mar, bem como,
para melhorar nosso entendimento sobre os processos
f{\'{\i}}sicos e biol{\'o}gicos do meio marinho. ABSTRACT:
Optical/near-infrared remote sensing images acquired by remote
sensors in specular bidirectional reflection conditions between
sun, sea surface and sensor (sunglint condition) can be used to
identify oceanographic and meteorological features and processes
at work on the surface of the sea at the time of image
acquisition. Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS)
images in sunglint conditions over the Brazilian Southeastern
continental shelf were digitally processed and analyzed allowing
identify features as the Brazil Current front, mesoscale eddies
and meanders, internal solitary waves, atmospheric rolls, biogenic
and mineral surface slicks. Base on the understanding about these
ocean and atmospheric process and the mechanism which allow us to
distinguish these features in sunglint contaminated images. As
highlighted here, it is possible to do a better and more detailed
interpretation of complex features visible in such images,
information that can be applied in operational oceanography, as
well as to obtain a better understanding of marine environment
processes. The atmospheric correction more suitable to sunglint
conditions are here descripted too. As well, the sunglint
condition dependence of favorable solar zenith angles which
partially restrict its geometry of acquisition (sun, sensor and
sea surface) between October and February at the Brazilian
Southeastern coast.",
